Hi everyone, Thank you so much for your appreciation over the years. Just to let you know I have relaunched the Roman Sock Shop and you can now find it at romansock.com.
I often get asked what crochet supplies I use. So here is a quick run down:
Hook: I tend to use a 3.5 Hook - I find these work for most items. I actually find a Clover Hook easiest to use.
Camera: I use a Nikon Coolpix I find that it gives me the macro ability I need without being too fussy. I would like a new camera soon but this one does the business at a very reasonable price!
Books: I use the Crochet Stitch Biblea lot - It's a really great guide to all of the basic crochet stitches and of course there is my book Super Super Cute Crochet
Hand Dying: If you are thinking about dying your own yarn The Complete Guide to Natural Dying is a great way to get all of the basic knowledge. I have had loads of fun dying yarn and this makes sure you get it right.
Yarn: Yarn is of course the most important crochet element! So these are the yarn shops and brands I use regularly.
Natural: I am a massive fan of Artesano Alpaca. It comes in great colours and is so soft and completely delicious. K1 Yarns has a great selection.
Mixed: For something a bit more economical the Bergere de France yarns are great - I particularly like the Ideal range - Great colours and enough wool to be delightful! HSC Craft always has it at a great price!
Something Different: My very favourite place to buy yarn is from Texere they have a great range, great prices and there is always something different.
