Something very exciting has happened - Kittens!!!! Soft, Fluffy utterly marvelous kittens!
This little fellow is Cherry Pop - He is already an ounce bigger than he should be at just 1 week old. He arrived along with his sister Marshmallow (She's a little shy)
Their Mama Sweet Pea is doing fine - and is by far the most natural and amazing mother I could have imaginec. She is just so gentle and patient with the babies and knows exactly how to care for them.
The birth was pretty horrific - we were too late to save one (We are calling him Toast) and little Marshmallow we found freezing cold but softly mewing, it took us an hour to bring her back to life and finally Sweat Pea took it into her own paws and got her drinking and feeding.
Marshy is a bit smaller than Pop so we were a bit worried about them! It turns out Marshy is normal sized and Cherry Pop is massive :-)
The house smells like milk and little kitten mews and sucks are the most prevalent sound - but it is very contented and happy.
The challenge for the next couple of weeks? Moving back across to Edinburgh!
Oh, so cute! Do they have a home? I'm looking for cats in Edinburgh soon? I imagine you'll have lots of similar requests!!!!

What a wonder-full thing! Good for you, and I'm so glad Sweet Pea is a good and happy momma-cat.
You probably already know about this, but just in case, and in the interest of Drama Prevention:
if you are moving - or even changing anything significant in the World of Sweet Pea - she may instinctively feel the need to hide the kittens away somewhere. (Speaking as a person who once had to cut a hole in a wall...happy ending, but a very scary time!)

they are just so precious...that being said I had to laugh out loud at the sweet one you named Toast. You'd fit quite well into our warped little family.....

Your family is bigger now with the new born kitties, so cute and fragile, 2 little souls, helpless and innocent.

Beautiful babies, we had five little kitties a couple of years ago, so so cute you just want to squeeze them! BTW I found your blog by accident, wow I am totally blown away by your creations, you are one very very clever crafter. Thanks so much for sharing :)
