Wow, I have not posted for an awful long time! Thanks to everyone who has emailed me asking if I am okay, I am getting much better!
My lovely little dog Twinks who has featured on this blog far more than his fair share due to his startling good looks (and he knew it!) passed away last month.
His tracheal disease grew much worse over the last couple of months and after a rapid turn for the worse he had no alternative than to put him to sleep. It was a horrible experience so I have been trying to remember him when he was happy and not coughing all the time (I am so angry about Tracheal Disease - what a horrible way for an animal to die - so so unfair)
He used to love going for drives! You can just about spot his reflection in the wing mirror here:
But even more than traveling he liked ice-cream when he arrived at his destination!
Twinks gave me the idea for making amigurumi all those years ago and was in particular my inspiration for brushed crochet. Now when I look back at my work I can see his cute face in almost everything I made.
I have been struggling a bit finding my creativity back. It has deserted me a bit I am afraid.
Twinks liked ripping up paper like most of us like chocolate and one of the funniest sights was his bum jiggling as he ripped something apart! So rip Twinks!
I'm so sorry for your loss - Twinks looks like a fabulous little chap. Dogs give us nothing but love and it's heartbreaking when we have to say goodbye.

So sorry to hear of your loss.
I know how hard it is to say good-bye to our beloved pups. Hope your sadness soon turns to warm memories of little Twink.

Oh, how happy I was to see you pop up in my reader: "Brie is blogging!"
But then, how sad to hear the news of your loss. Your dear little Twinks; though I knew him not I considered him to be one of my "internet pets" and always enjoyed seeing pics of him. His tawny coat! His bright button eyes! So full of life and personality. That ice-cream pic is definitely my favorite.
Grief is a terrible thing; I hope you'll be spirited enough to blog soon, though. Even if not, check out my blog if you'd like a diversion: I've been doing a good bit of cross stitch lately and even blogging!
Yours,
Berit.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost your lovely dog - Twinks was such a gorgous fluffy guy who always made me smile when I saw him in your blog posts. Thanks for sharing him with us all - it was great to know him through you and hopefully all your happy memories of him will help you through this time.

Brie, so sorry for your loss of Twinkle, a.k.a. the Intrepid Twinks. He who warned you of a gas leak and barked away home intruders also carried a trait of other Northern breed dogs: paper shredder! Who knew? I lost my Samoyed grrrl this year & she too once loved to tear and *eat* paper. It is like losing a child; even mum says so. Give yourself room to breathe, with no deadline for "better," as better only happens in its own good time. Adieu, notre ami renardien. Rest in peace.

It is so sad when a beloved pet dies as they are so part of the family. I am sure you gave him a lovely life and remember the good times.

I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss. :'o( Twinks was a fantastic wee person. I'm sure you must miss him so much. I still miss my pom (Heather) who is gone for 13 or 14 years now. They are such bright spirits! You have left lasting memories in your amazing pomeranian pattern and many folks will have tiny remembrances of lovely Twinks. Sending you many healing thoughts.
