Ode to the Fennec Fox

I have just discovered the most beautiful creature - it's called a Fennec Fox and lives in the Sahara. Can you believe something this cute actually exists? its like a perfect cartoon captured in realness. I could have spent all day on flickr looking at them! but instead I had to see if I could whip one up in amigurumi. I have a feeling that this is just one of many Fennec Foxes to come!

a little transformer bat

I am so sorry I have not been more up to date on my Halloween challenge - However, this little fellow is a bit of a two for one.

First a sweet little bat, who likes hanging out in the rafters...

 

but all is not what it seems, as he starts to transform...

   

then a considerably less sweet little vampire appears!

It took me soooo many attempts to get it anywhere near what I had in my minds eye, but I think this version more or less captures it. 

And before the winter truly sets in... a last memory of spring

   

It's landed!

I have been waiting on tenter hooks to see if my pattern would really be published in Simply Knitting - or if it was all in my imagination..........but it's true!

 

It is even on the front cover! The little Christmas Pudding in the corner!!! Inside it has a three page spread... I can't believe it - or breathe.

egg yolk yellow

I bought this stunning egg yolk yellow yarn about a year ago - after falling head over heals for it on ebay, and have been waiting for the right project (while stroking it a lot in the meantime)

I finally committed to a project, and now is actually finished!

 

I think it looks a little Edwardian..

I am just obsessed with the color!

 

Is it wrong to love alpaca this much?
