I wish I could knit as well as crochet but I don't have the skill and patience! I do, however, find it sad that there is a little rift between these two glorious fiber camps. So I wanted to think of crocheted gift for knitters, so we could all give gifts and make friends!
Introducing.....the Sock Acorn
It is just big enough for a skein of yarn and the socks you are knitting!
Then when you want to work on them you just pop your socks out...
and then secure your skien in the acorn to keep it safe from dust and annoyances and keep on knitting!
I have now finally finished a project I've been working on for ages and my time is my own again!!!!!!! So I will be rejoining blog land with a passion!! and I should have much more time for crochet!!! Yay!!!
I plan to be writing some more patterns, so I was just wondering if there was anything in particular you wanted me to write patterns for?
I'm in love! Your sock acorn is awesome. Is there a pattern for it? Or was I hyperventilating so badly I missed the pattern?

That is so cute, unique and what a great idea. What kind of yarn did you use?

Too cute! I don't knit because I can't get the hang of it. If I could learn to knit decently, I'd do both.
There are so many cute things to knit, but how do you turn a knitting pattern into a crichet pattern? Crochet socks?

SO adorable!! You are great. I love lacy crochet, so maybe a lacy summer crochet scarf?

Hi Brie,
The acorn sock box is gorgeous Brie! Are you going to make some to sell on Etsy as I would love to buy one for my mum!
Even if you shared the pattern I couldn't crochet this in a million years! But I could buy one it they are available!!! :-)
I did not realise there was a rift between crocheters and knitters...mum and I manage with me crocheting and her knitting but then we can both do both...I just prefer crochet and mum prefers knitting!
You would think a love of wool/yarn would unite us all no matter whether we use hook or needles to make our items!?
Anyway love the box!

this is a great idea! i think all who knit or crochet could use this crafty acorn. i like the colours that you picked. i wish you many hours of blisful crocheting with no entanglements form your acorn. thanks for sharing, i will think about which pattern i would like and forward more.

did you ever make a tutorial for the thistle stitch you used to make the scarf. I might have missed it though.....

That is very clever. And it works to keep messy WIP's contained while looking so sweet on the side table. Well done!

It's me again. :) I was thinking about patterns and you had asked for ideas or wishes. I love your handbag patterns and would enjoy one large enough for the everyday "stuff",with an over the shoulder strap. Kinda casual, but classy. Any ideas?
