At Start Learning we are always horizon scanning, trying to work out what the biggest issues of tomorrow are so we can start training for them today.
A recent report by Oxford University has highlighted the growing cost of Dementia. Currently 820,000 people suffer from the disease and it costs the economy £23 billion a year, more than Heart Disease (£8 billion) and Cancer (£12 billion) put together.
However current levels of research funding do not reflect this with just £50 million a year for Dementia and over £800 million for cancer and heart disease.
Training is going to be critical to combat this problem and we need to start preparing now. Our course in Dementia Care is ideal. If you want a broader overview of the health industry then our Health and Social Care course may fit better.
