Elephants - cute and practical!

In the spirit of practical amigurumi, and there is nothing more delightful than something cute and practical, I thought I would solve my annoying problem of the moment with a little bit of crochet.

If I wear my ring at night, I end up scratching myself or my other half, but if I put it on my bedside table I lose it! .... What to do? Ahhh crochet....

I made this mini version of my pocket elephant pattern. I used Jaeger Silk so he is lovely and soft, but gave him a heavy weight inside so he wouldn't run away. He is teeny weeny and my ring just slips on him!

He makes a friendly additon to my bedside table

and like all elephants loves nosing about...

I hope this post is readable as typepad seems to have gone bonkers! I am off to email them to see what's up!

Oh it's freaking cute! I would want a whole herd of them wearing my rings!

Haha that is so cute! The tiniest elly ever!

OMG I love it and thank you. My sis loved elephants. I wish she were still alive to see how cute this is. I'm going to make one in her honor.

Adorable and brilliant! What a treat!

I've been making a small herd of your "regular" elephants lately. Can't seem to stop! Now I'm going to have to try a mini!

to cool :D awesome idea!

The elephant pattern is ludicrously popular with everyone I know. Soon as one comes off the hook, it gets nabbed. Maybe one day I'll get to actually keep one of the ones i make! Pink ones seem to be particularly popular.

Just to let you know, my blog got mangled by a google takeover, so the link you have will go to a very old and tired website. The new one is linked to this post.

That is so so so cute! What a great idea (as always)!

I love the last picture. What a cute little nose. :)

Your elephant pattern is totally ingeniuous, and I am so hooked. Made two already today, and probably some more once football starts! *drool* have a very good weekend Brie!

Adorable, positively adorable.

P.S. I made one of your elephants. It was awesome and came out terribly cute.
