Owl by night

Ms Sock likes to sleep in total darkness and after a couple of prototypes I made her these.

She has been using a prototype for months and is now happy I have finally finished it.

I have far to many projects on the go at the moment and wish I could concentrate on them rather than work but hey ho.

We have been thinking about buying a house and are debating whether we could build are own. Ms Sock discovered cob houses. They are amazing check them out here:

Bush baby

This is my bush baby I am seriously thinking about writing up these patterns and having them available from the side pages. I am not sure f they are good enough though, but I think  might give it a try.

 

Lace Scarf

This is a lace scarf I am crocheting in Thistle Stitch. Its a really easy stitch and I love the results its made from Natural Dye Studio http://www.thenaturaldyestudio.com/ mohair cobweb.

I think I am in love with lace crochet, the history behind it is fascinating and the flexibility is really inspiring I bought this book Amazing Crochet Lace but found the pattens very large for me, I prefer the stuff that looks more detailed. Although there are some amazing clothing patterns and ideas in it. So while I might not make anything directly from it, I will totally use it for inspiration.

 

Cashmerino Monkey

   

One of my mates commissioned this monkey from me. I am really pleased with how it turned out th body is made from cashmerino astrakhan and is so very soft. His tail and arms have pipe cleaners in so he is very posable but I left the legs floppy so he could hang. The face is made from cashcotton.  It was a successful project all round and in the future I would definitely use the cashmerino again in fact I have bought some in brown and orange and I have more gray to make ms sock a hippo.

   

Baby Dragon

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh my wistful baby dragon. I worked hard trying to get the eyes just right. I like the way he turned out. The scales and wings are made from fimo. He is very small and sits on the palm of your hand. His body is filled with beans so he is nice and heavy. I can't believe its been so long since my last post. I think sometimes when life is hard I stop communicating when actually thinking things through like this can actually be helpful...
